October 29

The female osprey was on the nest for 2 hours today.  The male joined her briefly but flew off in the direction of the golf course.  She arranged nesting materials, relaxed and perched on the perch.  The ospreys began spending more time at the nest right before Halloween last year.

Joe Zarolinski reports that Osprey were spotted at the nest early last week. It is not uncommon for non-migrating Opsrey to return to the nest for use as a feeding platform.

August 27, 5:20pm 2 crows on the perch

August 27, 2:38pm

There was a Loggerhead Shrike at the nest today. Very funny.

August 26 and 27

The nest is still empty and the palm tree has been swaying. Yesterday we had lots of rain and I could see the puddles on the ground. Last night I could see the nest despite the darkness because of nearby lighting. The picture is very clear! How neat!
